Queen,
Feeling endlessly tired and worn out like a dried apricot? (no it's most likely not your moisturiser)
Let’s be real, every year takes it out of us physically, emotionally, and mentally leaving us feeling drained and disheveled and all-around exhausted.
And as much as you’re reminded to ‘fill up your cup’, ‘take time for yourself’ and do something that you love often, which you may do, but not consistently or deeply.
As this year comes to an end- and what a crazy year it has been!
But let me ask you….
How often did you put time aside for YOU time?
How often did you put yourself at the end of your priority list?
The reason why I am asking you this is because, how often you put time aside for yourself and make yourself a priority reflects your own value, your own self-worth, and this ripples throughout all areas of your life.
This was happening to a client of mine, she always put everyone else’s needs before hers, and this left her feeling SO tired, drained, and eventually, she felt really down on herself.
Because she was so busy looking after everyone else, keeping the house running, keeping her relationship together, demands from her career….. by it came to the end of the day she just wanted to go to bed.
My client, I believed that there wasn’t enough time in the day to do something for herself, that it became another ‘thing’ on her lonnnggg list!
And the more she tried to just ‘get on with life’, the more drained and frazzled she became.
Anyone else relates?
I totally could feel her struggle with this, this use to be my mentality and the exhaustion was no match for any miracle under-eye-cream- I was exhausted on a soul level.
During one of our sessions, she came to realisation that she cannot give her best if she is not at her best.
You see Queen, making yourself a priority or making time for YOU means making sure that you schedule in time for you to re-energise, prioritise a day of all things you love, create a morning routine that sets you up for the day. Whatever helps you recharge and sparks you to life is what you should do more of.
Because when you are full of all the deliciousness from doing things that spark you from doing things that you love, you also become supercharged energised and hold your center and your inner-glow radiates, PLUS, this affects everyone around you.
So, Queen what are you waiting for?
Ditch the eye-cream and start filling up your cup of all things you love!
To start you off with getting into the momentum of prioritising YOU time, here are my
Top 3 Ways:
1) Start the day with your fave playlist (either music/ podcast/ meditation)
2) Once a week have total downtime. I understand with kids, the thought of…. When is that EVER going to happen? So instead break it down into blocks of 30mins every day/night of downtime OR communicate with your partner and ask them to take the kids out for a couple of hours so you can have your own time and space.
3) Before the end of each year get your calendar and schedule in 3 ME days. Planning ahead gives you the exact dates and times to share with the necessary people. And it also starts to create boundaries and stick to them, this strengthening your self-value.
Doing these 3 tweaks to making sure that you make the time for YOU, can have a HUGE positive impact on yourself and your life.
